CRISTINA OTERO

Born in Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, to Noemi Pascal and Luis Otero, Cristina Otero is the youngest of three children. She found her love for photography at a young age. At 13, while watching America’s Next Top Model, the artist found herself intrigued by the makeup, styling and poses that go into creating a major fashion photo shoot. So that’s when Cristina Otero got into photography; she is completely self-taught and hasn’t stopped experimenting and learning about it ever since.. Cristina Otero uses a Pentax K-5for shooting. Most of the time her images are actually self portraits, specializing in close-up self portraits. This stunning photographer is the youngest artist in Spain who has ever exhibited individually in an art gallery, at the age of 15. Her amazing images are full of color, energy; she does all of the make up, styling and editing of the photographs herself.
My photography is all about contrasts, making something pop out from the whole composition, which are usually the eyes. I believe it’s unreal, melancholic, and romantic." CO
